Native American Apache Made Metal Hatchet with Wood Handle – BR-MA-5194

Apache Made Metal Hatchet with Wood Handle

This wonderful hatchet is an example of what the Native Americans would do to a Spanish Conquistador weapon that was recovered. The handle is solid wood with metal down either side with the classic Spanish hatchet head attached through the metal and the wood. This type of weapon would have been used by a solider who lost it in battle and was then decorated by the Native Americans and carried by a warriior.. This is a wonderful piece of Native American one-of-a-kind weaponry. The leather trim, rabbit fur, turkey feather and braided sinew strap finish this piece.
